Uninstall Overview

This section guides you through disconnecting from QuickBooks and uninstalling the QuickBooks Invoicing integration from your HubSpot account. It’s important to understand the difference between disconnecting and uninstalling, and what happens to your data in each case.

Disconnect vs Uninstall

There are two ways to stop using the QuickBooks integration:

Disconnect from QuickBooks

What it does:

  • Removes the OAuth connection between HubSpot and QuickBooks
  • Stops the integration from creating new invoices
  • Removes your stored QuickBooks credentials

What it keeps:

  • The HubSpot app remains installed
  • CRM card stays visible on deal records
  • Settings page remains accessible
  • You can reconnect to QuickBooks anytime

When to use:

  • Temporarily stop using the integration
  • Switch between Sandbox and Production environments
  • Disconnect from one QuickBooks company to connect to another
  • Rotate OAuth credentials for security

Uninstall from HubSpot

What it does:

  • Removes the app from HubSpot completely
  • Disconnects from QuickBooks (if connected)
  • Removes CRM card from deal records
  • Removes settings page

What it keeps:

  • Invoices created in QuickBooks (remain in QuickBooks)
  • Customer data in QuickBooks (not deleted)
  • QuickBooks company data (unaffected)

When to use:

  • Permanently stop using the integration
  • Remove all traces of the app from HubSpot
  • Switch to a different invoicing solution
  • Clean up unused integrations

Important Considerations

Warning: Before disconnecting or uninstalling, review these important points:

Data Retention

  • QuickBooks data is permanent: Invoices and customers created in QuickBooks are NOT deleted
  • HubSpot data is unchanged: Your deals, contacts, and other HubSpot records remain intact
  • No automatic cleanup: You must manually delete invoices or customers in QuickBooks if needed

Access to QuickBooks

After disconnecting or uninstalling:

  • You can still access invoices in QuickBooks directly
  • Customers created by the integration remain in QuickBooks
  • Invoice history is preserved in QuickBooks
  • You can manually manage all data in QuickBooks

Reconnection

  • Disconnect: Reconnect anytime by entering credentials in Settings
  • Uninstall: Requires reinstalling from HubSpot Marketplace, then reconnecting

Impact on Workflows

If you’ve built workflows or processes around this integration:

  • CRM card data will no longer update
  • Invoice creation from HubSpot will stop
  • Email scheduling features won’t work
  • Customer sync will cease
